MARSIE WEST FIGHTS FOR:
Public safety

Marsie wants a safe county that protects every resident. That means support for the Sheriff’s Office, the courts, mental health care, and emergency management. Lewisville Mayor Billy Carter has praised her commitment to properly funding the Sheriff’s Office.
Financial transparency

Marsie built her career in finance and has chaired a town finance committee, so she knows how to read a budget. She believes residents should be able to see how their tax dollars are spent. She also pushed commissioners to meet in the evening so working people could attend, and after residents spoke up, the board added a monthly night meeting.
Data Center regulation

Marsie publicly opposed Project Iron Spur, the hyperscale data center proposed for Rural Hall, and helped neighbors organize against it. Hundreds of people packed the commissioners’ meeting, and the board denied the rezoning 5 to 2. More data center decisions are coming to the commission, and Marsie has shown she will stand with residents.
Meet Marsie West
Marsie West started her career and her family in Forsyth County after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. Her work in finance, managing operations for large insurance companies and banks, later took her family out of state and overseas. They came home to Forsyth County to be near family and now live across the street from the house her husband’s grandparents built.
Marsie has served in local government before, as an elected member of a town Select Board and as chair of town finance and zoning committees. For the past three years, she has attended almost every Forsyth County Commission meeting and spoken up on local issues. She ran for District B in 2024 and is running again to bring fresh leadership to the commission.
đź’° Follow the Money
Marsie is running a grassroots campaign. As of June 30, 2026, she had fewer than 100 donors, all giving small amounts, and about $5,000 on hand.
Chris Parker had more than $70,000 on hand at that point. That includes $6,800 each from former Wachovia CEO Bud Baker and his wife, and more than $11,500 from people tied to Belmont Abbey College near Charlotte, where Parker is a trustee.
